My client situated in Oldham is looking for a Service Engineer to add to their existing engineering team

The purpose of the Service Engineer role is to ensure the smooth running and maintenance of plant and equipment within the Services Department.

Hours – Service Engineer

Monday to Thursday 7:30am till 4pm and Friday 7:30am till 3pm

Package – Service Engineer

* Salary for this position is £40,659.84.

* 32 days holiday a year inclusive of all bank holidays to be worked other than Christmas day.

Key Accountabilities – Service Engineer

* To maintain and repair all relevant machinery and equipment this includes gas boilers, steam autoclaves and steam lines, traction and hydraulic lifts, waste effluent plant, Compressed air systems, Domestic water systems and cooling towers, including breakdowns ensuring that all work is carried out quickly and effectively,

* Responsible for mechanical, electrical repair and preventative maintenance, particularly identifying key equipment for attention.

* Participate in projects assigned by the Engineering Department when required.

* To respond to breakdowns ensuring that all work is carried out quickly and effectively.

* To work effectively with the engineering team and establish an effective working relationship with production ensuring regular communication and feedback.

* To actively work towards a safety culture within the factory and to ensure that all Health and Safety requirements within your work area are met. Ensuring Safe Systems of Work and relevant legislation and site procedures are adhered to.

* Any other ad hoc duties.

Candidate Attributes – Service Engineer

* Time served in a factory services environment or workplace experience.

* Good fault finding and testing skills.

* BOAS or equivalently trained in boiler operations, experience working with steam boilers,

* Boiler water treatment and water softening plant desirable.

* Experience in NDT preparation for testing of pressure vessels.

* Experience in steam supplies and ancillary equipment including pipe fitting skills.

* Experience in Compressed air supplies and ancillary equipment including pipe fitting skills

* Plumbing skills in line with maintenance duties and control of Legionella.

* Experience in working with traction and hydraulic lifts desirable.

* Capability to use workshop machines desirable.

* A form of Electrical/Mechanical qualification, NVQ2, 18th Edition etc
