Overview
iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting for both Senior Youth Worker and Youth Worker who are passionate individuals with a keen interest to work with and inspire young people aged 11 to 19 (25 with SEND) making a difference in their life, supporting them to have voice & influence on services and to engage in positive activities within a universal open access youth setting.
The successful post holder will be a part of a team that provides year-round safe spaces across the borough, bringing a variety of different methods and skills that aid in planning, organising and delivering universal and targeted youth activities and programmes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* You will support/ manage in the planning and delivery of projects that focus on issues like health, bullying, transitions, sexuality/ gender, crime, gangs, or drugs including community and social events for the young people, help design and organise activity programmes that engage young people into informal educational programs and youth recreational activities such as sports, arts and drama whilst assessing young people’s health, social and emotional requirements.
* To deliver as part of a team projects across the borough as directed, that provides year-round, universal and targeted youth activities and programmes, using a variety of methods centre based, universal and targeted youth activities and programmes, that enable the formal and informal learning and personal and social development of children and young people primarily aged 11+ and up to 25 with SEND
* To work with the team lead, support and assist in administrative tasks including providing information (verbally or in writing), and reporting on the work, supporting the planning and delivery of youth activities and ensuring that youth activities and programmes are published in a timely fashion, and delivered to a high standard.
* To achieve delivery of any apportioned performance targets that relate to the youth activity and programmes, collating data and information on young people attending the project / programme, ensuring that data is regularly inputted onto the service MIS database, preparing statistical reports as and when required to verify and evidence delivery and the quality of work being undertaken.
* To provide individual and group support to young people through assessing the needs of individual/ group of young people through 1:1/ group support; undertaking the development and monitoring of individual learning plans, mentoring, and coaching young people and working in partnership with other agencies to deliver interventions, providing feedback where required.
* In addition to the above – For UAB youth worker only: delivery of physical and adventurous activities e.g. Indoor rock climbing, canoeing, cycling/ BMX

* The ability to be objective, impartial and accountable
* Technological knowledge – IT Microsoft suite, databases
* Able to collaborate with young people, professionals, stakeholders and the community
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum of a Level 1/2 NVQ JNC recognised Youth Support Worker qualification or something similar (Sports, Teaching, Youth Justice)
* Applications from candidates currently undertaking a formal qualification to work with young people.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with young people
* Enhanced DBS check
* Willingness to be flexible and travel in and around the borough
Contractual hours of work:
We are currently looking for staff who can work flexibly to meet our service delivery needs. We are looking for staff who can meet one of the following contractual hours or work patterns: 12pm- 8pm, (phone number removed)pm
