Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker on a full time, permanent basis based in Hackney. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £22,929 pro rata per annum.

About the Support Worker role:

As our Support Worker, you will deliver high quality and effective support services, which promote the independence, wellbeing and inclusion of customers whilst complying with Peabody’s policies and procedures and the principles of best practice.

Our two Hackney High support mental health services provide high quality support to people who have a history of serious mental illness. You will work to support them in a collaborative way around a variety of needs including promoting their recovery, using a trauma informed approach, promoting independent life skills, training, and education, and maximising their income, substance use and move-on. You will be working on a rota basis covering a shift pattern from 8am to 10pm including weekends.

What we're looking for in our Support Worker:

Effective team working within allocated shifts on a rota basis including weekends

Effective Report writing and IT literacy including Word, excel and data entry systems

The ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff and external agencies

Empathy for the client group

The ability to provide excellent customer service

Passionate about being able to make a real difference in peoples’ lives

What you can expect to be doing as our Support Worker:

Carrying out needs and risk assessments, completing support plans, providing support, and carrying out reviews, in accordance with policies and procedures and the requirements of stakeholders and funders

Working with our customers in a person centred, recovery focused and trauma informed way

Promoting the principles of co-production with our customers

Supporting customers to maximise their income, to access benefits, and to budget to cover domestic bills and living expenses

Supporting customers to sustain their housing, and identify and move onto housing that meets their needs

Accurately inputting all client data onto an electronic monitoring system and ensuring records are maintained to evidence key performance targets and comply with commissioner requirements

Liaising promptly with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders regarding safeguarding, welfare, and risk concerns in accordance with Peabody policy

Participating in customer reviews, team meetings and training courses

Actively promoting the remit of the service to a range of customers and other professionals as appropriate. Attend stakeholder and partnership events as required

Prompting customers regarding medication and encouraging self-management of health and wellbeing.
