Teacher is proud to deliver the opportunity for student advisor in the Cambridge area. Suitable candidates will possess strong communication skills and ability to build a caring/helpful relationship with college students that are aiming to progress their career.

The main responsibilities include:

To offer targeted support to students from specific communities and groups who require additional help in order to overcome barriers to achieving their goals in learning
Deliver sessions and activities as part of the college’s wider personal development programme  
Administer and allocate financial support to students for programme related costs, childcare, travel and bursary payments
Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries and maintain records of enquiries.
Support students on bursary and welfare issues by providing information and advice.
Receive, record and assess all applications to the College Bursary Funds
Manage effective, efficient and accurate data entry
Ensure accurate and retrievable records of all systems for audit purposes
Deal sensitively and efficiently with students, their parents and carers, internal and external bodies and provide information on matters relating to welfare, childcare and bursary payments and contracts
To maintain and develop own knowledge, skills and experience through formal training, staff development activities and networking including with referral agencies
To support the College processes for safeguarding and mental health support by acting as a Safeguarding Support Officer and Mental Health First Aider
