About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in SEMH needs, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students’ emotional and educational development. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individualized learning plans, provide one-on-one support during lessons, and assist with interventions designed to improve students’ social and emotional wellbeing. Your positive attitude and unwavering commitment to student success will help create a stable and encouraging learning environment.
Application Requirements:
• Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential. Experience in a primary school setting, particularly in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, is highly desirable.
• Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or childcare is preferred but not mandatory. We value experience and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children above all else.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Commitment: A dedicated individual who is ready to contribute to the holistic development of our pupils and work collaboratively with our team to provide the best possible support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom.
• Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning plans.
• Support the class teacher in managing behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Participate in interventions aimed at improving students’ social, emotional, and mental health.
