What are the keys to getting customer service right? It starts with good standards and great product obviously. Staff need to be available and knowledgeable. Customers need to feel valued and their journey through your store should be enjoyable. Things need to run smoothly and that’s where you come in.
The Role
Operationally you’ll be first point of contact on all matters relating to customer service and the smooth operation of the service desk, tills and front end. You manage a team to be on hand for customers and react to the changes in customer flow when required, staffing your areas accordingly. You'll be process-orientated ensuring that your team is accurate in their work and reporting errors and inconsistencies to your line manager, often leading investigations and follow up yourself. Profit protection is a key part of the role so you’ll be aware of all the factors affecting Loss Prevention and Stock Management and be expected to get ahead of issues quickly. It’s a big job with lots of opportunities to make an impact and you’ll use all of your administration experience to do that.
The Person
You’ll probably have retail experience and be used to, or at least have experience of, the front-end service part of a store. It’s not important what product experience you have, just that you are organised, diligent and comfortable making decisions on your own. You’ll be working for an employer that’s growing and you’ll hopefully have some ambition to develop in your role and progress to something bigger in time
