Overview
Our client, a leader in their field who are involved in world class events and training, is seeking a Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Purchase Ledger and all associated duties.
This a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a vibrant and dynamic team at a very exciting time for the business. This position is full time Monday – Friday and a driving licence is required due to the location. You will have the ability to multitask, with great attention to detail, be a team player with a positive attitude.
£25,000 per annum plus annual bonus, free parking, staff discounts.
Duties to include:
* Matching, checking and coding invoices (and credit notes)
* Working out VAT payments
* Data entry on bespoke accounts package
* Liaising with managers to ensure prompt payment of invoices
* Making payments via BACS
* Processing staff expenses and credit cards
* Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
* Reconciliation of supplier statements
* Filing invoices
* Managing petty cash
* Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries from suppliers
* Maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers
* Create company reports
* Reviewing systems and processes and making improvements where necessary
Skills and experience required:
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills
* Solid team working skills – a “can do” attitude
* Self-disciplined and efficient, with a flexible and proactive nature
* Experienced in Excel and Microsoft office packages
* Knowledge of software packages such as SAGE and BACS
* Demonstrable experience of bookkeeping
* Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure whilst maintaining a professional etiquette
