Job Title: Payroll Junior

Location: North Tyneside

A leading Healthcare company are looking for a number of Payroll Juniors to join the busy and growing team.

Working Monday to Friday my client offers flexible working and hybrid once training is complete.

Main duties of the job

* Work closely with Higher Level Payroll Officers to learn and support tasks pertaining to payroll processing.

* Responsible for a small section of payroll as part of a training programme ensuring controls are met (there is 100% check of all work)

* Other calculations and data entry commensurate with skills and experience

* Operating the Computer based payroll system.

* Checking authorization and accuracy of data

* Assisting with controls to ensure payments have been paid correctly

* Ability to apply Terms & Conditions of Service – local and national involving more than one organisation.

* Interpret and action payments with accuracy and efficiency. Makes decisions around own workload and understands when to highlight problems.

* Understand and complete routine transactions using practical experience.

* Knowledge and awareness of Statutory Requirements

* Experience of computerized payroll system

* Experience of dealing with routine enquiries in a confident and sensitive manner.

* Provision of information to managers and colleagues in a confident and sensitive manner.

* Organises allocated workload to meet strict deadlines

To be considered for the role you must have;


* 5 GCSE/ O Levels, including English & Mathematics or NVQ level 2 equivalent experience.

* NVQ Level 3/ AAT/ Foundation Qualification in Payroll & Pensions or equivalent experience
