Mechanical Engineer (On-site Tooling Engineer)
Job Purpose:
To provide an on-site technical repair and customer service function on Air and DC Industrial tools, working as part of our service team primarily onsite at our customer’s facilities in Dagenham, continuously improving our customer satisfaction. There is a potential requirement for additional support work at other customer sites also and therefore this role requires a Full, clean driving license. Strong administrative and communication skills are key to be successful in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To carry out calibrations and preventative maintenance tasks on a scheduled and planned basis on Industrial Power Tooling including DC, and Pneumatic handheld tools.
2. To carry out calibrations on a scheduled and planned basis on Fixturised tools.
3. To maintain records of all activities completed on site including certification storage
4. To provide written and electronic reports on repairs and incidents as requested by management or the Customer.
5. To provide where appropriate, Bench Repairs on Industrial Power Tooling including DC, Pneumatic handheld and fixturised tools.
6. Have the ability to provide the customer with technical support during breakdowns on line.
7. To provide the customer with technical support, assistance and guidance as per the contractual agreement
8. To provide advice and feedback to the Customer on the use of their equipment.
9. To work as part of a team with our Sales / Project representatives and the Customer to help address any support and technical issues.
10. Work as part of the wider Service Team by providing on site liaison between us and our customer.
Person specification:
Essential
* HNC in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite and Windows environment
* Has knowledge of Industrial Power Tools i.e. Pneumatic, Battery and DC
* Clean driving license
* Computer Literate
* Has experience of providing a Service to customers
* Must have eye for detail, also drive and commitment to see the job through to a successful conclusion
* Located within commuting distance of Dagenham
* Ability to work as an individual and able to work on own initiative
Desirable
* Has knowledge of either a Manufacturing or Customer Service Environment
* Knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure
* Has experience of Industrial Power Tools i.e. Pneumatic, Battery and DC
* Experience of PLC’s and line control systems
Shift Pattern:
This role is typically to cover day shift production approximately 7:30am-3:30/4:00pm
However, there is an expectation that overtime, evenings and/or weekends work will be required where overtime rates and/or shift allowances will be paid.
Benefits:
Salary D.O.E £30000-£35000
