A quick look at the role.

The Health, Safety and Quality Manager monitors adherence to the site's legal requirements, the company's in-house safety and compliance framework, and undertakes the responsibilities required by the Environment Agency.

Undertaking of health and safety inspections/audits.
Conducting health and safety training; and promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout the site.
Being a strong member of the senior management team on site and leading by example.
Ensuring quality samples are completed when required and data entry is accurate and timely.
To monitor and audit compliance and effectiveness of the site's health and safety policies and procedures and the analysis of statistical information to ensure that robust health and safety management safeguards are established and continuing compliance with the Group Integrated Management System (GIMS).
Assisting the SHQ BP in the effective delivery of training and mentorship to all staff including the shift supervisors e.g. using the provision of information and training to ensure understanding and effective implementation of the site policies and procedures.
To work with and liaise with the central SHQ team ensuring that information is collected and collated for hazard and near miss reporting, external and internal audits and behavioural surveys. Ensure all relevant data is being collected and identifying trends to be raised with other senior management on site. To carry out effective and concise 6 day reviews into all incidents safety related.
To act as the site's point of contact in respect to all fire related issues, and ensure all statutory inspections are completed effectively using the GIMS.
Induct both visitors, new starters and contractors to site where required. Ensuring contractor RAMs are suitable and sufficient and auditing the induction process to guarantee its effectiveness.
Liaise with other units in the division to ensure the quality process is standardised across all the sites.

.Control and manage the weighbridge team in their day-to-day operations and ensure the data entry is timely and accurate
Liaise with the commercial team around inputs, outputs, pricing, quality, yields and gravimetric sampling.
Liaise with other management on site to ensure traffic flow is managed in line with both contractual obligations and customer expectations.
Manage the site quality team to ensure the MRF Code of Practise is adhered too, and sampling is carried out and reported.
To assist in managing the Sites ISO accreditations (9001, (phone number removed) including the monitoring of reports.
To ensure vehicles, plant and or machinery do not exceed legislative requirements and monitor completion of statutory inspections using the GIMS.Requirements

Here's what we require:

NEBOSH – Qualified to certificate level as minimum.
COTC Level 4 qualification desirable.
Previous Management Experience and analytical nature.
Experience in the management and auditing of ISO standards.
Experience from within the Waste Industry desirable.
Computer literate in Microsoft office packages.
Understanding of MRF Code of Practice.
Able to coach, mentor and lead others.
Able to be organised, plan and prioritise workload.
Able to stay calm and work under pressure.
Able to tolerate a significant amount of routine work.Benefits
