Office Angels are currently recruiting a Finance Adviser on behalf of a prestigious public-sector organisation. The aim of this role is to accurately process and pay expenses for all staff members and efficiently respond to a high volume of enquiries. The ideal candidate will come from a finance background, with good knowledge of payroll and purchase ledger, and possess excellent communication skills.

This role will be mostly home-based, though you would be required to work in the office once a fortnight (this is agreed amongst the team, therefore there will be a degree of flexibility). For this reason, please only apply if you live in Greater Manchester.

The contract is initially until August 2023, though there will be the opportunity for extension to the contract or to apply for permanent positions for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:
* Deal with a high volume of queries in a professional manner via telephone, email, or letter
* Process fees and expenses in line with company policy, to a high standard of accuracy
* Ensure that accurate records are maintained
* Contribute towards the setting up of the new HR/payroll system
* Data entry/data management
* Process remittances and invoices
* Update and maintain the accounting system
* Process claims forms
* Ensure that all queries are resolved in a timely and efficient manner and that confidentiality is always adhered to
* Work with the finance team in identifying improvements, quality performance and efficiency in continual improvement
* Ad-hoc duties associated with the role

Person specification:
* Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate experience of providing excellent customer service and guidance via various methods of communication (essential)
* Excellent knowledge of Excel, with the ability to use formulas, VLookups and conditional formatting (essential)
* Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills (essential)
* The ability to work in an organised and task-focused manner (essential)
* Effective use of IT Systems, such as MS Office (essential)
* Knowledge of processing and reconciling payments and any experience of credit control (desirable)
* Experience of processing BACS and Bankline payments (desirable)
* Experience of using Financial Accounting systems is essential, experience of Agresso would be advantageous (desirable)
* Possess an understanding of confidentiality, especially within a financial environment (desirable)
