Entry Level Finance Assistant

£18k-£22k per annum
Chelmsford, Essex

Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

*To be considered for this role, you must be AAT qualified or equivalent*

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and personable Entry Level Finance Assistant to join a rapidly growing law firm based in the centre of Chelmsford.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Filing accurately
Keying in Local Searches on client ledgers
Confirming receipt of funds to clients and fee earners
Writing out cheques for deposits and returning of client funds
Banking cheques and allocating to client ledgers
Allocating Client Account banking from bank statements (check Debits and Credits)
Taking card payments over the telephone from clients
Allocating Land Registry and transferring fees from client to office
Checking completion statements
Preparing final bills after completion

Selection criteria:

A familiarity with the banking system and a working knowledge of an on-line banking system ideal.
A high level of numeracy and ability to spot reconciliation differences with relative ease.
Good communication skills by email, letter, telephone or face to face.
Ability to work to tight deadlines, especially at month-ends.
Accurate and reasonably speedy data entry skills.
