We are working with United Learning to find a Permanent Data Manager to join their team at Manchester Academy.

You will be the data specialist at Manchester Academy, working to ensure the accuracy of data in implementing, maintaining, and developing the MIS. You will be training staff to interpret data and produce reports for the leadership team. This is a vital role within the school, as data underpins many important decisions affecting pupils progress and attainment.
This role would suit a Data Manager with initiative and strong IT skills.

Important Details:
Salary is £28k – £32k
The role is all year round, but the school are happy to consider term time + 4 weeks or more
Some flexibility on hours e.g. around the school run

Duties of the Data Manager:
Ensure the completion of the relevant statistical data and complex forms to external bodies and trust
Operate relevant IT packages including but not limited to, MIS (Arbor), SISRA, and 4MATRIX
Take a lead role in the development and maintenance of information systems
Provide reports to management
Develop resources to support the completion of grade collections on a half termly basis
Co-ordination of internal progress checks including CATS, MiDYIS and reading tests
Manage staff accounts on the MIS, ensuring appropriate access for all users
Support the review the MIS's efficiency and effectiveness.
Be the main contact with the MIS provider, report any issues and ensure resolution
Exercise training skills in order to ensure non-data specialists can translate data results
Administer the production and distribution of reports to parents on a half termly basis
Creation and analysis of internal student assessment data
Ensure staff meet deadline for completion of reports for each year group
Producing/monitoring assessment templates for staff entries
Support for data relating to exams, working collaboratively with the Exams officer
Work closely with Admin to ensure effective data entry, providing support and training as necessary
Support colleagues as required in the production of student progress reports
Prepare exams results analysis as soon as results are released
Responsible for organising the daily 'cover' in the absence of the Cover Manager
Supporting Exams Officer in identifying room and staff availabilities as well as the efficient administration of external exams including the analysis of student performances and accuracy of both entries and amendments
Organise the efficient organisation of parents' meetings and inset days, including letters and text messages
Manage the transition of data from one academic year to the next Progress and assessment data
Set up and allocate students to classes, groups, and courses
Support setting and implementing the timetable and with in-year transitions.
The Data Manager Must:
Hold a recent relevant degree or experience of managing complex data in a dynamic environment
Have initiative and the ability to question current processes and suggest improvements
Be flexible around the needs of the school and pupils
Strong technical ability including excellent Excel skills and the aptitude to learn other software quickly
Have a high level of analytical skills (statistical, numerical, and funding)
Communicate at all levels
Process complex requests, prioritise and meet deadlines
Build working relationships in a diverse environment
Deal with problems and adapt to a changing situation
Work both independently and in collaboration with others
Use Arbor and/or Power BI to deliver online live reporting
An Advantage but not Essential:
Relevant technical qualifications
Experience of working within a secondary education
Experience of working in MIS within education
Experience of Arbor MIS system, Sisra and 4Matrix
High level use of IT
