Overview

The Client:

A well-established Manufacturing organisation based in Gateshead.

They are part of a larger Group and their background and experience spans a broad range of industries.

If you are keen to make a genuine difference and would like to work in a small finance team, then joining at this exciting time will have you working directly with the local Financial Controller and liaising with the Business Controller in the US.

Fundamentally you will be helping to steer the company towards its overall strategic goals.

The Opportunity:

As Financial Analyst, you will be a key role within the Finance team, and you will take responsibility for areas of both performance analysis and reporting.

You will report directly to the Financial Controller and have close interaction with several other departments.

Some of the responsibilities for this successful individual would be but not limited to:

* Calculation, analysis and control of product costs (PK and CC7).

* Variance analysis of key cost drivers (material, labour and overhead).

* Sales margin/mix and Product cost analysis and investigation.

* Inventory analysis and monitoring cycle count accuracy.

* Inventory Anomalies investigation.

* Support Finance Manager of month-end reporting.

* Prepare accounts reconciliations.

* Perform Fixed assets control.

* Manage Intercompany Matching System (ICE).

* Provide support for new projects.

* Preparation of government statistical submissions.

* Assist the year-end audit process including liaising with auditors as necessary.

* Perform daily business activities like invoicing, data entry and bank reconciliation.

The Candidate:

The successful Financial Analyst will be/have:

* Part Qualified or Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA)

* Relevant experience of cost accounting in a Manufacturing environment

* Sound knowledge of ERP systems

* Strong Excel skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail

* Good problem-solving and analytical skills

* Self-motivated.

* Good planning and organisational skills.

* Strong team player.
