My client is searching for an enthusiastic Conveyancing Assistant to join their Wirral, Merseyside offices

The role

Mainly domestic conveyancing of freehold and leasehold properties including sales and purchase, re-mortgages, transfer of equity and equity release.

Duties include but are not limited to: drafting reports from set precedents; replying to enquiries; applying for mortgage funds; preparing completion documents and any other steps in the transaction and completion process.

• Dealing with incoming post
• Drafting reports from precedents
• Responding to client and third party enquiries
• Processing applications for mortgage funds
• Preparation of completion statements
• Dealing with initial instructions
• Processing client ID checks
• Initial searches
• Booking agents
• Some post completion matters such as SDLT returns, HMLRC requirements, sending deeds to lenders
• Closing files on case management system
• Other general clerical duties as required
• Cover for switchboard and reception as and when required

Relevant skills and/or aptitudes

• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Computer literate/keyboard skills
• Data entry skills
• Knowledge of filing systems
• Telephony skills
• Ability to draft relevant correspondence including e-mail

Hours

• Full time (Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm)
• Hybrid working after initial training period
• Start date asap
• Holidays – 20days plus bank holidays and at the discretion of the MD a possible 3 or 4 days over the Christmas period
• All staff are provided with a “Perk Box” Service
