Compliance Technologist – Food Manufacture
Location: Gloucestershire
Contract Type: Permanent to start asap
Hours – 40hrs per week incl. 30 min break. Flexible start and finish times. 25 days holiday + bank holidays
Salary – 23k starting, increasing to 25k on successful completion of probation

The Role
Reporting to Technical Manager
The ideal candidate will be passionate about the food industry and willing to go the extra mile to improve site standards. Key responsibilities include,
Collation of production paperwork (including outsourcing) and sign off to ensure checks on the recording/ accuracy of paperwork have been carried out. Includes cross check of warehouse sheet against raw material deliveries and G-codes on SAP. Uploading of signed off paperwork onto SAP
Movement of purges/ retained samples and wastage from powder productions into warehouse 99 using stock transfer
Barcode scanning if required
Verification of water activity meter readings against paperwork and daily data entry
Ensure water activity meters are kept in good working order
Unlock finished products on SAP once paperwork signed off. Investigation of unlocked finished goods
Complete the receipt to warehouse spreadsheet daily
Support SAP investigation issues
Maintaining retained samples for all batches
Generation of certificates of analysis where required by customers
Carrying out internal audits as scheduled by the Technical Manager
Carry out mock traceability and mass balance tests for materials with assured status claim
Arranging weekly quality attribute tests on existing products
Support Assistant TM with investigation and documentation of non-conformities
Support TM with complaints investigations and documentation
Generate complaint summary for production (monthly)
Service supplier/ contractor approval including ensuring supplier/ contractor certificates and reports on file are up to date and genuine
Support Assistant TM in taking and sending off samples for testing
Completion of supplier questionnaires
Suggest and assist with quality improvement projects
Support Technical Manager in implementation of third-party accreditation and customer own label standards
Support Technical department during staff absence
Employee Forum
Ad hoc tasks as required
The Requirements
Essential
Good attention to detail
Proficient in the use of IT programmes such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Highly organised
Able to use own initiative
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive can-do attitude
Desirable
Degree in food science or similar
Food Safety Certificate
Experience working to BRC standards
An understanding of HACCP principles
Knowledge of similar manufacturing environment
Auditing experience
