Our wonderful client is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their busy and growing Finance team. This will be a temporary ongoing contract and will be a great opportunity to join a great Public Sector organisation based in South Shields.
Description
As the Accounts Payable Clerk your key responsibilities will be to;
Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
Generate reports detailing accounts payable status
Understand expense accounts and cost centres
Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes
Profile
The successful Accounts Payable Clerk will;
Have experience in a similar role
Have Credit Control experience
Have strong data entry skills for expense reports
Be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Have knowledge of accounting principles and Accounts Payable processes
Be familiar with purchase order processes
Have the ability to work independently and use initiativeJob Offer
