The Business & Opportunity:
A new opportunity has been created to join this well-established business who provide major retailers with several household products. They are very much a market leader in their field, and much of their success is attributed to their employee care, which is reflected in their excellent staff retention.
On the back of a restructure, they are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant (with a purchase ledger slant) to be based at their Bingley Head Office.
Accounts Assistant Requirement:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you, as Accounts Assistant, will carry out a varied role which will involve both purchase ledger and varied accounts assistant duties. This will include:
* Purchase ledger tasks – invoice processing, payment allocation, matching, checking and coding invoices.
* Proactively analyse ledger and cash allocation along with supplier reconciliation statement.
* Making payments via BACS and cheques
* Processing import related bank documents, including checking, accepting and distributing, and liaising with shipping companies as appropriate
* Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
* Processing staff expenses and credit card expenses
* Filing and general data entry
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Investigating purchase price differences
* Managing petty cash
* Processing stock invoices and ensuring Goods Received Notes match
* Payroll cover
* Providing departmental duties cover including sales ledger
* Provide information as requested for auditors and assist with any queries
* Contributes to team effort by completing varied team tasks as needed
Accounts Assistant Ideal Skills & Experience:
* Experience of working in an Accounts environment, ideally including Purchase Ledger.
* Able to plan and organise own workloads and cope with changing deadlines, with excellent planning and organisational skills
* Confident using multiple computer systems including Microsoft office applications
* A persistent problem solver, able to develop practical solutions in a timely and thorough manner
* Strong administrator and record keeper with a high attention to detail and disciplined focus
* Exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills with all levels
* Would fit in well with family feel, SME culture.
