Berry Recruitment Sutton are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant for our Client based in Cheam. Your responsibilities in this role will include providing financial, administrative and clerical services. You will need to have good knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, credit control and experience of dealing with CIS.

Responsibilities –

Process accounts incoming and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable and payable data
Prepare bills, invoices and bank deposits
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and posted correctly
Verify discrepancies and resolve clients billing issues
Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending statements and contacting clients
Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
Processioning subcontractor applications, preparing payment notices and payment certificates once approved
Process and analyse time sheets for fortnightly payroll
Produce cheque runs in a timely and efficient manner

Experience and skills needed

Proven working experience as accounts payable/receivable and payroll clerk
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software
Proficiency in MS office
Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work to tight deadlines

Working hours and pay

This is a full-time office role. On a temp-perm basis

Hours are 9am-5pm Monday – Friday

Pay – £28k – 35k depending on experience.
