Overview
Job Purpose
To improve workplace efficiency and eliminate waste within the production environment. Develop strategies to improve efficiency. Diagnose problems, train staff and provide effective recommendations.
Accurately manage Glovia structures and routings for all products to maximize production efficiently and financial accountability.
Principal Accountabilities
You will challenge current methods and processes to improve on cost, quality and time taken
Able to determine all manufacturing processes required to manufacture a product
You will use of continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques such as 5Y, FMEA & fish bone
As our Production Engineer you will look to reduce time in set up and run time and feed improvements back into the ERP system
Implement improvements to manufacturing process – 5s, Lean manufacturing etc.
Co-ordinate R&D / Development projects into production
Review Glovia structures and routings to create work orders in a timely manner to meet workshop requirements.
Maintaining data entry applications to ensure system information is up to date.
Co-Ordination of w/o processing on major/new products to ensure efficient flow through the system from point of order to delivery and report to project manager where required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Ideally qualified, with at least 5 years experience of manufacturing / production, in an engineering / production workshop environment.
Lean, 6SIGMA Green belt (minimum) accreditation and experience
Knowledge in 5S methodology
Possess a high level of competency with ERP/MRP systems
Experience working with ISO 9001 Standards
Great Communication skills
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
Good IT Skills, Experienced in MS Office
Ability to analyse and interpret data
