City Recruitment Group are recruiting for a permanent Transport Supervisor to work for a Transportation Logistics company. We’re looking for talented Transport Supervisors to join on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work a 10 hour shift 9am-7pm or 6am-4pm on a rotating shift. The role is to run the fuel operation covering the North East, South East around 40/50 loads per day. Your role will be responsible for getting these deliveries out the door working in a team of around 6 supervisors each shift. This role is paying £28k annual salary plus benefits.
Your new Transport Supervisor role
* Act as the main point of contact to both our drivers and customers, effectively dealing with any issues as they come up.
* Carry out driver pre-brief and debriefs, ensuring that our transport operation is running both safely and cost-effectively.
* Escalate details of vehicle accidents, defects, or any fleet issues to senior management.
* Execute Daily plans that are planned by our customer
* Customer Service phone calls and queries
* General admin filing and KPIS
* Tacho legislation and Working time directive knowledge desirable
* Data Entry
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience of working within a transport environment is desirable but not essential, as on the job training will be provided.
* Strong people skills – you’ll be encountering a variety of Drivers and Team Members on a day-to-day basis.
* Confidence in the use of IT, especially with Microsoft Office packages such as Word and Excel.
* Desire to learn new skills with the support of management.
* Ability to work as part of a team .
