Room stewards are responsible for the comfort and cleanliness of guests at hotels and motels, resorts and lodges. Room stewards are responsible for promoting a positive image to guests. They must be friendly, pleasant, and able and willing to resolve any problems or special requests.
Responsibilities:
- Stock and sort supplies
- Clean, dust, and polish guest bedrooms
- Make beds, wash sheets, replace and clean towels, and change toiletries and towels.
- Delivery and collection of items for guests, e.g. iron and ironing boards
- Secure guest rooms and protect guests’ privacy
- Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g. If necessary, steam clean carpets
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- An optional secondary school diploma is highly recommended
- Requirements for physical mobility and stamina
- Ability to follow directions
- Detail-oriented
- Professionalism is essential
- Independence and ability to work alone
- Excellent time management skills
